Armed And Ready!

Hi there crafty friends...

I am on Craftin Desert Divas's blog today sharing with you my little project using Western Bandits stamp set and Southwest Border dies from June Release.

Here is what I made for you.

Yes! It's a popup card... it's been a while since I last did interactive card...  I used the adorable and cool looking critters from Western Bandits stamp along with the Southwest Border dies.  I couldn't  help to make a sunset scene and decorated them ready to party!

Here is the closer look

I am sharing with you my template for this popup card but the dimensions are very subjective to what your scene is and how large the images.  The key is the hight of nearest image to you must be tucked inside the card once it's closed.  If you front image is not so tall you can actually cut along the line further.  If that's make sense!.

Here is the template

If you noticed that I actually cut the line beyond the center scored line.  The length that you cut beyond the score line indicate how much you have to score the front portion to pop it up.  In my case I cut further beyond the score line about 1/2 inch which is mean at another end of the line I need to score up by 1/2 inch as well.

Once I had my based popup done, I cut the Southwest Border dies from black card stock for the silhouette mountain of my sunset scene.  The width of black card stock has to be the same size of the popup panel.  Once I cut it out, I measured from each side how much I had to cut away the center portion in order to fit perfectly to the popup panel.  And again I cut into the black card stock 1/2 inch due to the hight of my popup that away from my center score line.  Here is how it look.

I then began to distress my ground and background sunset scene using Distress Inks in antique linen and walnut stain for my ground and I used Distress Oxide Inks in spiced marmalade, worn lipstick and wilted violet for my sky.  I didn't take much care at the bottom of my sunset background because I knew that it would be covered by the border die.  And for the ground, I tried to make it looked like dirt as much as possible which is not so hard to do.  *lol*  Here is the photo.

I then stamped the 3 images from Western Bandits stamp onto white cardstock colored them with copic markers and fussy cut them out with a little bit of white border.  I also cut the adorable cactis from Southwest Border dies to decorate my scene.  Here is the closer look once again.

And here is my front card look like... I kept it simple as there were so much things going on inside the card.

I hope you like it and I wish you all a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Jan
